Training Session Details
This page shows the detail of an individual workout session. All statistics are for breaststroke. I have chosen to swim breaststroke across the channel because that is my strongest stroke and the crossing record is obtainable.
Date: Saturday, July 28, 2018
Total distance swam: 9,600 meters
Total time in the water: 4 hr 6 min 0 sec
Total swim time: 4 hr 6 min 0 sec
Calories burned: 4,080
Rest time: 0 min 0 sec
Type of swim suit: Regulation Suit definitions are available on the Gear page Comments: This 6 mile swim was at Carter Lake in Colorado. There was a thunder storm during the swim and I ended up swimming through white caps that slowed me down significantly. The water temp fluctuated between 62 and 64 degrees Fahrenheit. I brought duck fat, lanolin and petroleum jelly to use as an insulator but decided to try the swim without any of them. I acclimated to the water after about a half mile and then was fine for the rest of the swim.
Individual mile metrics are not accurately captured for open water swims.
